Meet Iris — the AI receptionist that never misses a call
By The Delegated team
Most local businesses miss 30–40% of their inbound calls. The plumber's in a crawl space. The salon's mid-cut. The restaurant's slammed at dinner. The contractor's on a roof. Every missed call is a lost job, a lost reservation, a lost client. The math adds up fast — a single residential HVAC lead is worth $400–$2,000 in revenue.
Today we're launching Iris, an AI receptionist that answers your phone 24/7 in a natural voice, books appointments, captures leads, takes messages, and routes emergencies — all on a dedicated phone number we provision for you in the US or UK.
What this looks like for your business
Caller dials your business → Iris picks up in two rings → "Thanks for calling [your business name], how can I help you today?" → caller asks for an appointment, prices, directions, or to speak to someone → Iris handles it. Calls you can't answer become appointments, qualified leads, and message logs in your Delegated HQ.
What Iris does
Books appointments during the call
Iris checks availability against the calendar, offers free slots, and books the appointment before the caller hangs up. Out of the box she uses our built-in scheduler — but if you run your business on Jobber, Vagaro, Housecall Pro, SimplePractice, or your own CRM, you can register your booking endpoint as a custom tool and Iris will use yours instead. Your CRM stays the source of truth.
Captures leads with full context
When a prospective customer calls, Iris collects name, callback number, intent, budget, and timeline. Everything lands in your Receptionist inbox tagged "Qualified," ready for you to follow up. No more piecing together a lead from a half-remembered phone call.
Takes messages with one-tap callback
Routine "please call me back" requests get logged with caller name, number, and reason. Open the Receptionist tab → Messages and tap the number to call back. When you do, mark the message as Done.
Routes emergencies in real time
If a caller says "this is urgent" or "I have an emergency," Iris transfers the call to your phone immediately — a real SIP cold-transfer, not a "press 1" menu. You configure the forward number once during setup.
Knows your business cold
You feed Iris your hours, address, services, prices, FAQs, staff names, and any free-form context she should know ("we don't deliver", "wedding cakes book 3–6 months out"). She answers from facts, never invents.
Setup takes 5 minutes
- Add the receptionist from your HQ Tools modal — $49/month.
- Pick a country (US or UK) — we provision a dedicated phone number you own.
- Fill in the setup form: business name, voice (5 options), hours, what Iris should do on calls, FAQs, services, forwarding number for transfers.
- Click Test call from browser to speak to Iris from your laptop's mic. Iterate on the prompt until she sounds right.
- Forward your existing business line to your new Iris number, or publish the Iris number directly. You're live.
What this costs
- $49/month for the receptionist add-on (on top of your $99 base plan).
- 500 minutes of calls/month included. $0.15/minute after that.
- Dedicated US or UK phone number included. No extra number fee.
- Cancel any time. Phone number stays yours for a 30-day grace period in case you change your mind.
For a contractor missing 5 leads a month at $500 each, the math isn't subtle. For a restaurant missing 2 reservations a day during dinner rush, it isn't either. If you're in a business where the phone is how customers reach you, Iris pays for itself the first week.
Built on the same foundation as the rest of Delegated
Iris isn't a bolt-on. She's a first-class member of your Delegated AI team, with the same workspace structure as Sage, Scout, Blaze, Axel, Pixel, and Lex. Her call summaries, captured leads, and bookings show up in your unified Today feed alongside everything your other agents are doing. She can hand off legal questions to Lex, admin replies to Sage, anything she catches on a call.
Behind the scenes she's powered by Retell AI for the realtime voice loop, but you'll never need to know that — everything is managed through HQ. Phone number provisioning, prompt engineering, tool wiring, billing — all one-click.
Try it today
Open your Delegated HQ, click the phone icon in the sidebar, and follow the setup. If you're not on Delegated yet, start with the base plan and add Iris from the Tools modal.
