Scout — Sales Associate

Sources prospects, runs LinkedIn + email cadences, monitors intent signals — autonomously.

Scout is the highest-ROI agent in the lineup if your business depends on outbound. He runs two inflow channels in parallel: intent signals (high-quality, low-volume) and daily ICP sourcing (predictable volume, ICP-matched). Both feed into one campaign, one cadence, one reply queue.

Onboarding (about 3 minutes)

The wizard walks you through:

  1. ICP capture — paste your website URL and we propose an ICP from it. You confirm or edit.
  2. Intent signals — we suggest 1–3 LinkedIn signals based on your ICP. Each one is a plain-English firing rule like "founders complaining about cold-email reply rates."
  3. Outreach prefs — value prop, messaging angles, tone, max emails/day, follow-up cadence.
  4. Schedule — what time of day Scout should source new ICP-matched leads.

On save, we auto-create your first campaign + cadence shell. Scout's wake-up message tells him to immediately fill in the cadence steps based on whether LinkedIn is connected:

  • LinkedIn connected: linkedin_connect → wait → linkedin_message (after_accept) → wait → email (no_reply_to_prev) → wait → email
  • Email-only: email → wait → email (no_reply_to_prev) → wait → email

Day to day

Every day:

  • Daily cron pulls ICP-matched prospects from RocketReach
  • Intent signals fire automatically when matching LinkedIn posts appear
  • New leads with email auto-enroll in the active campaign's cadence
  • Cadence engine handles touch scheduling, send-window restrictions, follow-ups, replies
  • Scout monitors cadence health each heartbeat: bounce rate, reply rate, stuck enrollments
  • Replies pause the enrollment; Scout drafts a response and creates a task for you to approve

Why daily sourcing if signals are firing?

Intent signals are low-volume and unpredictable (some weeks you might get 30 matches, some weeks 2). Daily ICP sourcing keeps the cadence warm with a predictable baseline. Signals jump to the top of the queue when they fire because they're better-qualified; ICP sourcing fills the rest.

Editing the cadence

Go to Campaigns → pick your campaign → Cadence tab. Inline editor lets you add/remove/reorder steps without going through Scout:

  • Kind: linkedin_connect / linkedin_message / email / wait
  • Delay (days)
  • Conditional gate: after_accept / no_reply_to_prev / never_replied
  • AI promptHint (for inferred copy) or static subject/body

Save → cadence is wiped and reloaded atomically, no half-state.

Connecting Scout's tools

  • LinkedIn outreach — Tools modal, OAuth via myagentmail. Required for LinkedIn-led cadences and intent signals.
  • RocketReach — Tools modal, API key. Sources daily prospects.
  • AgentMail — auto-provisioned per VM; this is Scout's dedicated outbound email address.
